There are certainly peaks and troughs in every industry, whether they be a result of seasonal fluctuations, financial year activity or something else altogether.
This is certainly no different in the wedding industry. Winter tends to attract less weddings, and a window of opportunity for those who work in the industry to slow down and take stock, or to prepare for the season ahead. Something, which is imperative in order to maintain a high standard of quality.
So, have you ever wondered what we get up to when we are not preparing for, working on, or working at your weddings?
‘Work Hard, Relax Harder’ is often a theory we all aim to adhere to, but the pressures of running a business, the constant work/life juggle and stresses of day to day life often prevent us from taking care of our most valuable and important asset – our health!
So, over Winter, myself, along with a few of the Mornington Peninsula’s most popular wedding suppliers took the opportunity to take relaxation and rejuvenation to a whole new level by visiting Mornington’s “The Wellness Manor” for a day of pure indulgence and luxurious relaxation.
Personally, it was my first time to The Wellness Manor, but I quickly discovered, it is a place to which you can retreat and escape life, momentarily. From the instant I walked in and was greeted by the incredibly friendly staff I felt an overwhelming sense of calm and tranquility.
The day was about recognising the importance of slowing down, allowing ourselves to relax and indulge, and not feeling guilty about it – and this venue was the most perfect, not to mention heavenly place to do so.
The Wellness Manor Mornington Day Spa is a luxury relaxation experience with mineral spa pools, exclusive treatments, detox colonics, laser and injectabes. It focuses on the four pillars of health: nutrition, exercise, detox and skin health – and embraces the concept of individual wellness restoration.
Myself, along with Lauren (Poppy Culture), Caitlin (Mr Hall Catering), Kahlie (Austin Photography), Sophie (Makeup by Sophie Knox) and Michelle (In Photography by Michelle Pragt) were treated to an afternoon of pure indulgence.
After being welcomed and given a tour of the 1867 historical manor by the delightful staff, we experienced a pre-treatment bathe in the two outside pools (heated to 39 degrees) and encouraged to experience the infrared sauna.
Following treatments we robed up and were led through the incredibly well manicured gardens to the relaxation zone for a glass of bubbly and heavenly tapas, not to mention loads of laughs and great conversation. A refreshing time out that was well and truly earned by all.
Makeup specialist Sophie Knox commented, “sitting on the day beds, complete with sheep skin rugs and indulging in herbal teas, sparkling wine and yummy tapas with a great group of ladies was certainly the best way to catch up and network with my fellow industry colleagues. We all commented that our experience would be such a great idea for a Hens Day or the morning of your wedding.”
Photographer Michelle Pragt added: “The encouragement to linger and not feel rushed in and out of an appointment made my Wellness Manor experience different to other experiences I’ve had before. The provision of a lovely space to do so, just makes the experience so much richer.”
It is fair to say that we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Wellness Manor and as we now fully immerse ourselves into wedding season, the knowledge that this heavenly sanctuary is right on the Peninsula’s doorstep, means a day of restful and indulgent relaxing is much more accessible than ever before.
